With my work I try to make things very abstract and geometric. I also like using two different ideas or things and explore how they contrast. For example light versus dark, matte glaze versus smooth glaze and different types of textures. The goal of my work is to catch people's attention and have them wonder what the meaning behind it is.

I make decisions in my work based off of what will make the final outcome look better. My work is generally started off by researching ideas. Based on the theme I want to do I will research some ideas or I will just search for some creative inspirations. Then I will experiment with the pictures/ ideas I find interesting and based on them I will design multiple sketches by combining the different ideas. During my process my original vision will change because I begin to realize it's too complicated or not creative enough.

On my the teapot my inspiration comes from Ron Nagle's sculptures. Ron Nagle creates piceces where he plays around with contrasting. So my idea was to create a box teapot with many different cubes popping off at different depths then play around with different glazes. But then I changed my project and decided to contradict the geometric shaped square with several different abstract coils. To add my artistic voice into the piece I decided to use moss green on the cube and iron ore on the coils.
